Recently validated by the National Council, the Caroli Immo group will carry out the highly controversial project of building a housing complex on the Esplanade des Sinners, which is a plot of public domain of the State representing an area of approximately 13,000m2.
The new development will occupy an area of 5,800m2 of modular space guaranteeing the sustainability of the Grand Prix and access for the emergency services. An area of 5,000m2 will include, among other things, a museum for underwater archeology hosting the collections of Franck Goddio and also various centers of scientific and educational activity.
In place of the former Yacth Club, a building of more than 18,000m2 will be erected comprising 23 state housing, offices and private housing, several shops, a 182-space car park and also public gardens of 2,000m2. A pedestrian link by elevator will connect the esplanade and Monaco-ville, the port professionals as well as the maritime police will be relocated in offices of more than 5,000m2.
